The Indonesian Minister of Industry remarked, "As of April 2022, the manufacturing sector's export value reached $19.08 billion, a 27.92% increase compared to the same period last year. The Ministry of Industry will continue to maintain the positive trend in the export growth of the industrial sector."

Indonesia stands as one of the top ten global textile-producing nations, with the textile and garment industry being one of the most significant sectors in the Indonesian economy, providing employment opportunities for over 3.7 million Indonesians. In 2022, the textile industry contributed 6.12% to Indonesia's manufacturing GDP and 1.04% to the total GDP. The industry's GDP value in 2022 amounted to $1.19 trillion, with a production value reaching $13.8 billion.

Within Indonesia's overarching development plan "Industry 4.0," the government aims to propel Indonesia into one of the world's top five textile-producing nations by 2030, with an export target set at a value of $13-14 billion by 2024.
